As part of our Corporate Social Responsibility program, Fusion Group has had a long-standing relationship with Foundations that enables us to be socially accountable to our stakeholders, and the public. We highlight below our engagement as corporate citizenship to impact positively the society and environment we operate in.
As part of our Corporate Social Responsibility, Fusion Group has worked with a registered UK Charity, “Kibera In Need” (KIN), and its local NGO partner in Kenya, Riziki Kenya. Through our involvement, KIN has provided access to education, healthcare and psycho-social support for vulnerable children in the Kibera settlement in Nairobi, Kenya. Fusion assists both through financial contributions and staff involvement in projects.
“The Kibera” is a slum area of 2.5 sq. Km which is home to at least 800,000 people. It has a range of economic and social problems including sanitation, security, nutrition, health (a high proportion of residents are affected by HIV), social conflict, and abuse. KIN’s child sponsorship scheme provides vulnerable children with primary education, and – unusually – extends this support to secondary education and vocational training. The aim: to help some of the least advantaged some chance of participating in Kenya’s growth story.
Fusion Group has also supported Optiven Foundation for the last three years in a row to empower approximately 8,000 underprivileged students from 20 different counties in Kenya to access education. Through the Soaring Eagles Scholarship Programme (SESP), which is part of Optiven’s Foundation Education Pillar, Fusion has extended Kes. 3,000,000.00 investment to restore hope to bright, deserving students by giving them a chance to pursue an education and all its associated advantages. Fusion believes with such support, many deserving students will be able to achieve improved academic results, increased chances of success in life, increased gender equality in secondary school education, fresh opportunities for students from rural areas, and greater social integration among students.
Speaking while giving a further donation on the 23rd May 2022, of Kes. 1 Million to Optiven Foundation, Mr. Daniel Kamau, CEO of Fusion Group said, “We at Fusion are advocates of 100% transition from primary school to secondary schools. 2022 marks 19 years since the free primary education was introduced but we still have about 1.6 Million students out of school. 1 Million in primary schools and about 600,000 in high schools. Our support to Optiven Foundation plays some role in ensuring the 600,000 pupils are not stuck at home for lack of shoes, uniforms, and other basics and that they actually make it to High School.”

Fusion In The Community As part of our Corporate Social Responsibility program, Fusion Group has had a long-standing relationship with Foundations that enables us to be socially accountable to our stakeholders, and the public.
